Proper estate planning is much more and should include the following:

  • Include instructions for your care and financial affairs, should you become incapacitated.
  • Provide for loved ones who might not be responsible with money or may need protection from creditors or in the event of a divorce.
  • Provide for a family member with special needs without disqualifying them from government benefits.
  • Provide for the transfer of your business at your retirement, disability, incapacity or death.
  • Minimize taxes, court costs and unnecessary legal fees.
  • Updating beneficiaries of life insurance policies and retirement assets.

Estate planning is an on-going process, not a one-time event.  Your planning should be updated as your family, financial circumstances and relevant estate and income tax laws change over time.

Estate planning is an included part of our planning services.

We will work in concert with your current Estate attorney or provide a referral to a local Estate Attorney to make sure your current documents are still adequate or to provide new documentation.

All of us need at least 3 Estate Documents:

  1. A Valid Will
  2. Power of Attorney
  3. Health Care Directive

In many situations, a Living Trust or other Trusts may be beneficial to carry out your desires.
